Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra Youth
Outreach
The Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra is
proud to contribute to the education of Santa Barbara’s
youth by bringing music to the schools. The Chamber Orchestra’s
free in-school education program takes a string quintet and wind
quintet into elementary schools on separate occasions to perform
for students. During the program the musicians talk about their
instruments and the music they are playing. They play musical “games”
with the children to teach them about rhythm, tone and the
different sounds the various instruments make.
The Chamber Orchestra thanks the Henry W.
Bull Foundation, The Stephen& Carla Hahn Foundation, The Ann
Jackson Family Foundation, and the Performing Arts Scholarship
Foundation for their support of these programs.
